SONY TRINITRON TV - RED BLINKING LIGHT?

I have a Sony Trinitron TV #KV-27FS12 that turns on 5 seconds then shuts off.A red light blinks 4 times next to the words(Stand By/Timer).Can anyone help me ?Should I discard the TV?Any advice ,info would be greatly appreciated "The Sturgeon General",thanx.

Get an estimate and then you know.
