Brand new SONY VAIO - Touch pad stopped working

Today I received my brand new SONY VAIO - EB series.. and used it for about say .. 20-30 mins.. and then..
the left key of touch pad stopped working.. rebooted few times.. then right key stopped working and finally.. the touchpad was dead...
Contacted sony technical support and they did verified its a hardware issue as "VAIO Restore Center" was not able to detect the touchpad at initial boot with 'F10' key pressed to start VAIO restore..

Requested a return of the laptop .. hope to get this resolved in easy manner...

Dead on arrival or DOAs are best taken back to the store for exchange that same day.

Touch Pad

You probably figured it out by now, but for others looking, on the Sony the touch pad is controlled by Fn +F1.
If you hold down the Windows key a screen will come up and give you the keyboard map.
