2007 KDS-60RXBR2- Now on third optical block.

We had a XBR1 in 2005 and the optical block went out, and Sony sent us a 2007 refurbished XBR2 in June, 2007. Now the optical block has gone out again and under the XBR2 extended warranty until June, 2010, we can have it replaced or accept their offer for a 55 inch EX500 LCD TV for a discount.
We don't want to go smaller, and we want a LED 60 inch model and after sending many letters to Sony, and many phone calls, we have asked if we could pay a bit more for the KDL-60NX800 Edge lit LED TV. We don't care about 3D.
Reading the review on CNET, it sounds like the picture quality is not that good. We have a brightly lit room with many windows and are concerned about the glass front panel causing reflections on the screen, but even the Samsung's are glossy panels, and so we may have to live with these.
If Sony offers us the NX800, it would be cheaper than invest in a 2010 Samsung 60 or 65 inch LED TV.
Any suggestions on what to do, and has anyone seen the picture on the NX800 LED TV, are there any other problems with this set?
