I have internet connection through AT & T Sierra

wireless. However , my browsers constantly go off line reading "timed out connection" or "problem loading page". The connection through the wireless device is never lost however. It doesn't matter what website I'm trying to get on. This is a hit or miss deal. Sometimes I stay online and other times I get those messages. Outside of doing a factory reset, is there anything I can do. I have both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. HP Pavilion will also not let me do a system restore.

Two possible diagnostics:
1. Go wired in stead of wireless. Any difference?
2. Ask a friend with a laptop to browse to the same sites as you do, simultaneously, using your connection. What happens?
