HP Pavilion DV6 crashed Cannot use back up discs

I hae a HP Pavilion DV6 and my notebook computer came with Geeksquad rescue discs and they do not work or I may need some knowledge on how to do it.
When I turn on my computer it says: Please istall a operating system on your hard drive. I also Had backed up my computer with discs and I cannot restore my computer! I sure would appreciate any help I ca get!

Clarification request: Geeksquad discs?

At this point I fear you'll have to order recovery discs. They are far cheaper than a trip to BB or another OS license.

It's over at hp.com under your model number.
