hp6735s in sleep mode??????

hi, having some real issues with my hp 6735s laptop , it appears to be stuck in sleep mode, or at least looks like it is, got a blank screen, but powers up, power light is flashing amber, not green, disk drive runs, just wont boot up. cant access any recovery options, tried usual fix's, different monitor, battery out power button held etc, recently had a new battery and was fine, no problems at all, really struggling now as its a lifeline for my daughter who has a disability and i'm her main carer,cant afford a new one and would really appreciate some good advice, contacted hp md, and got told tough basically, please please help if possible

Have you sent it in to the place that repairs these things?

Not wanting to ask the obvious question here but hopefully you extended the warranty to cover this for as long as you need it.
