is it safe to reformat laptop D: ?

have recovery cd's plus external hd backup so i know i can re-install if needed. my q is more about problems/snafu's related to hp or vista.

am i ok to do it or am i opening a big can of worms here?

can do anytime. decided to err on cautious side.

Have you tested that the recovery media works?

And do you have a spare copy of said media?

And are your files not at risk? That is, you have 2 or more copies all over so you can live with a formatted HDD.

If yes to all, go ahead.
