My SD card will not read for 5 weeks now.

I have been very upset for 5 weeks now that my SD card I always use with more space on it and my 12 picture card will both work in my Canon Power Shot SD750. I have tried getting HP to help but my warranty runs out tomorrow and I am about to panic. I have just had the computer since March 7 last year and it works fine otherwise.It is a G42-145DX. Can anyone tell me what you call the pllace where I put the card in? is it a card Reader. I need help! If this isn't enough info I will supply any info you need.

Can you please clarify..... I understand you are inserting a SD card into the notebook. Is the sd card not being recognized? Have you inserted the SD card into another device to see if it will read?

Ok, I believe the SD is not being recognized by something other than the file system that gets the pictures since I can go to the computer click it and do all that and try to format but it won't format or take pictures onto the computer. HP G42-415DX laptop, Windows 7, browser Google Chrome. If you need more info I can give it, I have had Canon and HP to try and help, not sure they understood me. I am bi-polar and have attention deficit type things so sometimes I go on and on. This is all I know for now. Been working on it for 5 weeks going on 6 spring is here and I have pictures yet to take. Thanks for helping it means alot to us.

Both of my sd cards will not work in computer but work in the camera and I think that is really some kind of clue but not sure where it will lead us. thanks
