Speaker not working but when test the headphone it is workin

iam running on windows 7 ultimate.. for a few days i was using only headphones. now when i remove it n play in my laptop speaker (hp 620 notebook) i cant hear anything. i can see the volume level rising n falling when i play music but i cannot hear. when i clicked test the headphone in the playback devices the speaker is working for a very few seconds.ie, 2 seconds..

please somebody help to solve this. there is no problem with drivers.

Since it is not drivers or volume settings I fear the next stop is the repair shop.
