HP Laserjet 1005 - getting it to work with Windows 7

My original CD only goes up to Windows XP and will not work.

HP do not have the drivers on the website.

Can anyone help me to get this to work properly?

Hewlett-Packard Hassle with Printers

Note that HP LaserJet Series 1005 Printer is completely different device than P1005 or M1005.
Mixing these devices is a common error. Software drivers for these devices are not interchangeable.
H-P has never published Windows 7 software drivers for their LaserJet Series 1005 Printer.

Print to PDF then send that to something that can print the PDF.

Those for coming back with this 10 months later as I didn't share the old workaround.
