Can they rebuild and repair the damage done to the the company by the last 3 CEO. One bought Compaq and preceded to adopt all the bad habits that had driven Compaq to be one of the worst PC you could buy. Another gutted R & D, customer, and tech support. All in the name of making the books look good for Wall Street and not thinking of the future of the company. Then came the last CEO who had no idea of how to run a PC company and decided the best thing to do is move the company away from its base and turn it into something it could never be.
The real challenge will be to rebuild the reputation of the company by investing in what can not be seen by the bean counters and that is good will. They have to rebuild their R & D department and make solid products like they use to. They have to stop out sourcing the customer and tech support and move it back to America.
The easiest way of putting it is to state that they have to go back to making a solid, quality product and stand behind it like they did back in the day. Back in the day when you bought HP you knew that you had a product that was going to last and the company was going to stand behind it.
