My husband unchecked the Quick Launch, didn't work, then uninstalled it completely, and restarted computer each time. Problem still there. Any other suggestions? By the way, thanks for your help.

Sorry, I thought that might help. Have you tried IE or another browser beside AOL. I have not heard of this being a problem with AOL but they are know for weird problems.

It happens anytime using web; tried using Firefox and did the same thing. He realized that the Quick Launch did not uninstall so is trying to do that again. Also will hook up another keyboard and see if that makes a difference. Do not have the problem using Word. The problem started at the same time an error appeared for a game (friend was not using it) so he uninstalled the game. I know that AOL causes problems but the friend is not computer savy and only knows that software for email so right now eliminating AOL is not an option unless she takes a computer course for dummies.

Appreciate your suggestions and help. This has been a real challenge!

Thanks to you suggesting about disabling the Launch, which didn't help as you know, but got my husband thinking about disabling other start menu items...he fixed it. He started disabling and eliminating and it turned out to be GID Desktop Application (Strikeforce Technology) and once disabled, the keyboard worked fine. What a relief to get this problem solved!

When I teach young ins about the repair of items I always try to stress that what appears to be the wrong path can lead to what is causing the problem. To many times I have seen even the most experienced Technicians give up on an approach when they were staring right at what would cure it. Glad everything worked out.
