Advice on tablet purchase

Hey everyone, just bought that hp tablet 16gb during the firesale for 100 bucks. My first tablet. I was considering using it with an external drive and planting on my wall with speakers and kind of making it a simple music player for my bedroom. Any advice on how this can be done or if i can be? Once again, im a new tablet user so any advice is appreciated!
