Pictures do not appear except in form of blue question mark

I have given away my Powerbook G4 OS X 10.5 to a nephew in Belgium. He has filed one of his hockey club pictures on the site (ihcl.be) but he cannot visualise it as it appears in the format of a blue icon representing a question mark.

I think somewhere settings have been modified locally (in Belgium) which affect that particular picture (and probably any others following) appearing on the screen. The "open safe files" items is checked in the Safari preferences.

Any suggestion or hint?

I should add that on a Windows Vista the picture appears .

from Safari, like a plug-in, for the particular format that the pictures are in.

What is the url of the site?

There is a complication. I have been refused access to the actual "members only" section of this dutch-language hockey club site which is where that failing photo is residing.

I have therefore asked my nephew to send me by email the same picture in the same format, etc. (jpg or whatever) he sent it to the club ( http://www.ihcl.be/ks/ ). Haven't received anything yet.

My suspicion is like you that there might be a characteristic to the transfer (his father also uses a Windows Vista pc) that might make it illegible on a Mac. Since my iMac registers all types of pictures from Mac or pc sources. the email Nikon photo I requested might reveal a missing plug-in on the Powerbook as you indicated. "Switching" is not always an easy road...

I cannot unfortunately not push this request any further. My nephew has sent me a message that he managed to solve the problem at a Mac shop but her did not care tgo explain how.

check your certificates

We had the same problem with a mac user at our company and IT suggested changing the security settings for the browser to "always trust these certificates" for the particular website. And it worked after that. I hope this helps.
