iMac 24"
Mac OS 10.5.8
2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
This morning around 11 am I think someone got very close to hacking into my iMac, or... something.
I was writing an email when I looked at the left side of an open folder on my desktop, which usually shows 'devices' then 'places'... now there was a 'shared' section (which I don't usually have) with an unfamiliar blue screened computer icon sitting there entitled 'mac0017f2ce61f5' which I've never seen before!!
I clicked once on it and it showed the same icon, larger, and underneath: 'mac0017f2ce61f5' and under that was: 'connection failed'.
WHAT THE??? What's going on? I took screen shots of this 'shared computer' I am not sharing any computers. I do have airport though. I did 'get info' on the icon and under general info, it said it was a pc server!
I copied appfirewall log (logs about the time this happened) system log, and console message details to show anyone who might help me?
I can also show you the screenshot jpgs of this 'shared computer'.
I went to security in system prefs, then firewall, blocked all incoming connections on apps like yahoo messenger, entourage, real player, iTunes etc., then clicked 'advanced' and noted that both 'enable firewall logging' and 'enable stealth mode' were checked.
Please help me out, I'd be much appreciative!
