Can TechTracker's new Download Manager be turned off

I do not care for this new tool that you have implemented. I like to decide for myself where on my machine each seperate download is placed. I do not use the Download Folder. I have a seperate folder for each different application update that I download. In this way I can easily find it. I also do not care to have CNET's application perform the install.

You can turn this off in preferences

Create an account at CNET if you haven't already and log in to the website. Once you are logged in click the button with your UserID on it in the upper right corner and choose "My profile" from the resulting pull down menu. On your profile page in a column to the right named "My account settings" you will see a link for "Update my Download.com Preferences". Turn the CNET Download Installer off and you're good to go!

Turn off CNET TechTracker manager

I would like to try the procedure that SprintSux described, but I cannot find My Profile. I know that I am logged in, else I could not be posting this. At least I think that I am logged in even if I do not see a Log Out.
