"Error submitting scan results to server." on Windows 7 x64

Hi.

Thank you for CNET TechTracker v2.0.1.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 and I always receive the following error after a scan and no scan results are available:

An error occurred during the scan: Error submitting scan results to server.
Please try the scan again.

I also tried running CNET TechTracker as Administrator, but I experience the same behavior.

Any ideas?

OK, thanks for clarifying. Have you tried the steps in this post yet? They helped me get my non-VS2010 machine working.

Settings->Download Tab items disabled

I don't know if this is happening for everyone else, but I noticed today (on my Win 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 machine with VS 2010 Premium SP1) that all the items on the TT Settings->Download Tab are disabled and the message "Download settings are only available to TechTracker Plus users" is at the bottom. So, at least for my machine, TT is not updating itself to the Plus version. Is that the same for everyone else who are having this issue?

That's just another symptom of TT not being able to connect to the server, otherwise it would show you as a TT Plus user as everyone is now.

Hi jonnydock,

I have the exact same setup as you and I also see the exact same disabled message as you (so I am NOT a Plus member either).

It's very frustrating that CNET still hasn't been able to figure this one out.

Anyone else have any other news about tracking this problem down?

Server issue...

As someone else already said: it's a server error. Log for me is showing HTTP 500.

SOLVED!!!

I just solved this problem!!! I added http://www.cnet.com to my trusted sites in internet options and then downloaded and installed. Once I'd run it one time successfully, I removed the trusted site and it still works fine happy I'd tried SO many different things to get this software to work. I FINALLY cracked it! YAY!!!
