TechTracker is replacing VersionTrackerPro...

TechTracker will be officially replacing VersionTrackerPro, the product Cnet acquired in its 2007 acquisition of VersionTracker, iPhone Atlas, and MacFixIt. The key differences are:
1.) It is freeware; no purchase/subscription necessary.
2.) It is primarily web-based, with the results displayed in your browser.
3.) It is linked to your Cnet account, which is also free.
4.) It does not detect driver updates, which are generally not necessary anyway.
5.) It will be actively developed/supported to provide its users with a fresh experience. (VersionTrackerPro has been largely stagnant for 2 years.)

Thanks for the comments John. The main differentiator of TechTracker app compared to VersionTracker Pro is that VersionTracker Pro has the ability to track drivers. For software, both TechTracker app and VersionTracker Pro run off the same database.

So my subscription renewal I purchased back in April was a waste of money? The ticker didn't work for over a month in August/September. This morning, The Versiontracker Pro client states that my password is invalid. When I check the Versiontracker Pro web site, it states that my account is a Free Basic Account. Please tell me what benefit I received from renewing my subscription this year? I paid for a year of "premium" service and I've hardly had premium service and now my account is listed as a Free Basic Account.
"VersionTrackerPro has been largely stagnant for 2 years" Well, CNet acquired VersionTracker 2 years ago. So it's obvious that the stagnation was CNet's doing.
Update: We are aware of the VersionTracker Pro issues

VersionTracker is currently experiencing service outages that are affecting features of the site and Pro client software. We're working to correct the issues as soon as possible and will provide an update when additional information is available.

The VersionTracker issues are resolved! But, If my version tracker pro subscription for 10 sites is up on 10/22, why would cnet renew it if they are eliminating it and making techtracker its free replacement? Will I get a credit when the official non beta version is available or should I not sign up for it.???? Very confusing.
