is to tweak the original and repost it back to the iCloud to replace the old one.

I don't see a way to haul these back down to your iPad to work with them.

I could be wrong though.

I had the original. That's the issue, the original was deleted from my iPad when I deleted iPhoto. I thought the iCloud
was there so I could go back later and continue my work on it. All I can do now is look at it, and share it, no way to edit or download it.

not having the original.
I was simply stating that I could only see one way of editing the journal that was currently published.

It looks as though iPhoto for iPad is required to store the original journal but, it should be relatively simple to recreate the journal using the pictures that are, possibly, still on your phone outside of iPhoto.
