Move iphoto files from external drive to iphoto library

I have an external drive with 10000 photos sorted in folders. All this photos has been imported to iphoto 11, with iphoto linking to the photos, not importing them.
The last month I started to use iphoto 11 to import my photos directly from the memorycard. All this photos has been automatically copied to iphoto library, and sorted by iphoto itself.
Now I want all my old picture files copied from my external drive and into the iphoto library and structured by iphoto. Is there an easy way to do this without loosing my tags, collections, faces etc in iphoto?
What I want to do is get all my picture files collected at one place, not some on an external drive and the rest on lokal drive.

you will find, under the Advanced section, a single line about importing. Checking the box will add those photo's you import into the iPhoto Library.
There is no mention of tags or faces.

I suggest that you create a folder with a few of your external drive pictures in it and import them to iPhoto. Then check to see if the Tags are intact and the Faces feature is still working.

The Faces database is in the iPhoto folder so those "should" remain without a problem.

Thank you for your answer. I have tried to check the box under preferences, and it works fine when I import new photos. But my pictures on my external drive is already imported to iphoto and it will only make a duplicate when I try to import it again, without tags and, title and collections.
One solution might be to back up iphoto library, move all the files and then let iphoto reconnect all the missing files? At least then I can gather all my pictures on one drive. I will try this with some of my pictures first and se how it works out.

If those files on the EHD are still linked in iPhoto and display correctly you can use AliasHerder, http://www.rorohiko.com/frame-pages/r-downloads.html, to replace the alias files inside iPhoto's Originals folder with the real source files on the EHD.
