* 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo
* 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
* OS 10.5.8
* iLife '08

Hi,
I Recently sent my slides and home movies to a local service that burned my media to a DVD. They added background music, but it's pretty lame. Is there a way to remove that soundtrack using iMovie or iDVD and replace it with music from my iTunes collection?

to do that you would need to get the movies into iMovie for further editing.
Of course, it is worth the effort of attempting to import it into iMovie, removing the audio track and replacing it with one of your choice.
You will probably find that the contents of the DVD are in TS_Video & TS_Audio folders and are VOB files.
