Opening a WDB file in iWorks

I have recently changed my Microsoft PC computer for a Mac 10.6.4. I had an important Works Database programme (WDB) on my PC. Can I open this and add to it in iWorks?

Any advice welcome!!

With MS Works being such a strange niche programs in Microsofts product suite that even Microsofts own MS Office in Windows isn't fully compatible, I would be amazed if it worked.

Yes, I certainly tried, but the file is just greyed out when I try opening it with iNumbers. Sounds as if I may have to build it again.

I haven't done much experimenting with iNumbers yet, but I have used MSWorks to enter details of the cheques I am going to issue. You can then switch from the table to individual entries and easily format those so that individual cheques can be printed. It is fab!

I shall have to hope that something like that will be possible with iNumbers but is is going to be a bit of a chore trying to work it out!

Covert to CSV or Excel

The following article talks about converting a WDB file to a CSV or Excel file using a java applet they provide at the bottom of the article. You should be able to just double-click the downloaded WorksDatabaseConverter.jnlp file and Java will run it.
