Make this as quick as possible. I've had a laptop for about a year and set it up without issue with itunes, running WIN7. Suddenly, Itunes on my "new" laptop is showing only 8 albums and their songs, about 10% of what used to be in the library. All of my music is in my desktop and iphone. I have syncd my iphone so many times it is absurd with nothing changing. I have turned on "home sharing", nothing. I have removed and reinstalled itunes on my laptop multiple times, nothing. I have authorized my laptop beyond multiple times, nothing. Itunes store purchases show up on desktop but only the 8 albums show up on laptop. I have performed so many recommended fixes I cannot even believe. I've never experienced anything like this. Any help out there?

This is why you read so many posts about backup and restore of iTunes library and contents. You backup for the day something like this happens.

When I find my itunes content has gone missing I can copy it back in from by backup copy.

There are folk that never did backup and are searching for a way to get their content back. We do have ways to get content off the iDevices (generic name for apple things) and it's with "iRip" that you can find with google.
--> But let's say you wonder why this happens. On Windows there is that nagging issue with "corrupt profiles" that Microsoft has tried to fix for years. It's not entirely theirs to fix as we could trigger the issue with some app or (horror) "registry cleaner" or even some security app.
The moderators have an annoying saying. Don't want to upset you but here it is. "We only lose what we don't backup."

The thing being....I have got all of my music on my IPhone and my desktop computer. Between those two everything is perfectly fine, they show all purchase history etc. The laptop itunes was perfectly fine until about a month ago when it just made most of the music disappear. It will sync with my IPhone but not load all the additional music that is on the device and used to be on the laptop. Home Sharing between the desktop and laptop produces no results. I have never experienced anything like this that I just cannot find an answer for. Have a great day.

If you research corrupt profiles, you find an issue that MSFT never did issue a fix for.
