How do I back up into the "Previous Itunes Libraries" folder

Hello, my computer has a habit of erasing my iTunes libraries every once in a while--VERY annoying--and it did this recently again. Luckily, the Previous iTunes Libraries folder is very helpful for restoring my library with my data added and playlists in tact. However, the most recent version was from a few months ago, and missing a handful of songs which I had to manually add.

I'd like to know if there's a way to back up my library on a more regular basis so I can keep my library as recent as possible if this happens again (which it most likely will). Thank you!

in your normal scheduled backup of your computer.

You do backup on a Daily or Weekly basis, yes?

Failing that, as I can see blank gaze at the mention of regular backups, you need an external drive for use with Apple's Time Machine (Mac) or Windows Backup program.

There is a saying around here that says "you only lose what you don't backup"

Thanks for the advice. I do back-ups but not as regularly as I should.

My question was more in reference to the Previous iTunes Libraries that are created automatically by iTunes. For example, the file name I used to restore my library today was called "iTunes Library 2012-09-16.itl." I'd like to know how to configure iTunes to create more recent ones on a regular basis.

there is an upgrade (update) to iTunes.
You know the bit when it says, "updating your library"? That's when it makes the Previous iTunes Library.
It does that just in case you need to go back to the original version of iTunes.
It does NOT create these files on a regular basis.

I do not have a Previous iTunes Library on my Mac.
