Where are all my purchased items?

My library lists all my purchases (music & TV) but asks me to find it. I have no iTunes Media folder. I have an iTunes Music folder within the iTunes folder, but none of the media I'm looking for is there.
I tried to re-download, but since the listings still exist in the library, iTunes store will not allow a new download, even though they show in my "Purchased" list in the store and in my client copy of iTunes.
What do do?
