Hi Out There!
I have a HP Pavilion g7 1270, Win 7, with up-to-date itunes.
I downloaded some tunes and burnt them to a disc, for my Grand-Daughter. Her system is a mini-stereo, a few years old, so I clicked "create MP3 Version" thinking that would make things easier to be played on her stereo.
The songs that I downloaded, were mostly in "LAME".
I don't know what that is.
After creating the MP3 version, I noticed they were in itunes encoding.
ANYWAY, I just want to make her a few nice CD's that she can listen to!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
PLEASE keep in mind, that I am a "Newbie", so please make your advice in step-by-step format, for me.

1. The songs that you downloaded, are they in your iTunes library?
2. Can you play those songs in iTunes?
It is likely that your Grand-daughter's stereo is not capable of playing MP3 files so you will need to get iTunes to do all the work for you.
If the songs are in iTunes, then the task of burning a CD is made really simple for you.
1. Create a playlist that contains all the songs that you want on the CD
2. Make sure there is a check mark next to each of the tracks.
3. Insert blank disc
4. In the menu bar, choose File > Burn to disc
5. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
iTunes will take those tracks and convert them to the AIFF format and burn them to the disc. The disc can then be played in any domestic/commercial CD player.

the conversion to AIFF format takes place "on the fly".
The tracks that are in your iTunes library are not changed in any way

that if these DVD's that you downloaded were not purchased by you, you will get no assistance in playing them on your HDTV in the CNET forums.

Hi!
They were privately downloaded, by one of my children, for Christmas, and I had no idea that it would create an issue.
Thanks for giving my head a shake! That 's probably why they won't play!
