iTunes crashes while downloading/syncing apps

Hello everybody,

I've got a problem with my iTunes. Got iTunes 10.5, iPhone4, Win7.

iTunes crashes everytimes I start syncing or downloading iPhone apps. The programm crashes while processing the downloads. I've tried everything from deinstalling to removing the librarby folder... As iTunes keep crashing I can't sync my phone anymore which is pretty annoying...

What else can I do? I need help, please.

No crash messages, error codes or much else. And since you tried everything, I can't comment about fixes I've heard of since I have no error messages or codes to give my answer a chance of working.

I fear that if there is no more detail you either reload the machine, tell more or take it to the person/place the fixes the machine for you.

I've subscribed in hopes you'll tell more.

Hi,

thank you for your message.

There is no Error-Code at all. Windows notifies me that the programm has stopped working right at the moment when the Apps are being processed (after downloads). Same applies to the moment of transfering mobile purchases into the library. The crash message comes from Windows. I have to other choise but to close iTunes.

Does that help much?
Are there any folders on the hard drive except the "iTunes"-Folder in MyMusic that could be worth deleting to make iTunes work again.

The thing is that the app-files (.ipa) appear in My Music / iTunes / iTunes Media / Mobile Application. However, iTunes seems to be unable to import these into the library. So it crashes.

Thanks for any form of advice.

I tried several things now. It appears that itunes is unable to connect to some library-related files. Each time I tried to import a file of any kind itunes crashed. Thus, it affects the whole library management.

The funny thing is: iTunes also crashes when completely deleting the system folders etc. after a clean installation.

It just dosn't make sense...

Like malware, dinged up OS, security software troubles, full hard drives and the list goes on and on.

Try uninstalling QuickTime

I recently ran into the same problem, exactly as you describe. I found a solution online that worked for me. Try uninstalling QuickTime. My iTunes is now working fine after I did that.

Try disabling AV/firewall

Try temporarily disabling your antivirus & firewall. I was having the same problem for the longest time, and disabled my AV & Firewall, and downloaded all the app updates with no problem at all.
