USB Drive and Movie Capability 55LS4500

Hey everyone,

I have a LG 50" Plasma, 50PA4500 and I've absolutely loved it. So I also bought a LG 55" LED, 55LS4500.

I am able to use the USB drive to play movies from a flash drive on the 50" Plasma. I thought I would be getting the same capability from the USB drive on the 55" LED. But the 55" will not recognize or play movies. The option isn't even there. It just says Pictures and Music, whereas the 50" Plasma says Movies, Pictures and Music.

I saw nothing in the write up or on the box to give me this information or distinction. Does anyone know anything about this? If I'm looking to return it, what am I supposed to be looking for to know if it will have this capability?

But didn't the seller or store answer these questions?

There's more about movie decoding capability. You find folk discover that a few movies play on one model but not another. That's been discussed so I'll keep it short here.

To play movies takes a lot more CPU and code in the TV so to hit price points this and other features come and go.
