LG 50PX950 immediately powers off when turned on

Hi, my first time on a forum, so bear with me. When I turn the TV on the screen backlights for a few seconds then the set powers down. I've tried unplugging it for a minute to see if anything resets but I get the same indication. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue but I'd like any input I can get about my problem. Thanks for any help you can toss my way.

You don't find much beyond the resets and inspections for BAD CAPS (google that and decide if you are into such inspections and repairs.)

I found the AVSFORUM (google that too) has more discussions on repairing TVs but as you suspect there are few to no user serviceable parts in these sets.
