It took me days to try to find out how to stream my TV output to my PC, somewhere else in the house, using my normal Network via my Router. I was not lucky, did not find any results.
Everything in the house is connected to the router, 2 PC's, a laptop, 2 mobile Phones, our LG Smart TV, the Blue Ray player and my NAS, it's all connected to the internet and working absolutely fine.
All the streaming from my pictures and movies stored on my NAS are perfectly streamed to my LG Smart TV.
However, now my question..!
I want to do it the other way around!
I would like to see TV on my computer monitor, on my PC, upstairs in my office, part of the network.
Everything is connected to each other, but it's a one way system!
The only solution I have found sofar is to buy a Sling box,
a device which is in fact just broadcasting instead of streaming.
However this goes over the internet and apart from having HD streaming problems if the bandwith is not very steady, it will costs you money on rising Downloaded Gigabits if you go over your allowed Bandwith usage.
It must be possible to stream the TV signal and receive it on my PC in an easier and cheaper way then via a Sling Box! As mentioned before, everything is already connected to each other! Why is there the need to buy another device?
Any ideas? They are very welcome!
Many thanks and kind regards
