New Quad-core Intel i7 iMac vs 3.2GHz Quad-Core MAC PRO???

I'm going a little crazy trying to decide whether to buy the new 3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 iMac or the 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro. The way I would configure them the Mac Pro would only be $500 more. Honestly, I would love to get that huge tower off my desk - it's just so huge, but I'm afraid to give up the flexibility. I'm a professional photographer and delving into HD video. Really love the four internal drives the Mac Pro offers - but no thunderbolt connection? no USB 3? and no free mousepad option? What's the deal? I feel like iMac is more updated. If the Mac Pro was as updated, it would possibly be a clear choice. What do you think?

that's what i'm reading/hearing - but I just hope it's in the next 6 months and not 12...if a new Mac Pro came out, would you say that is still the clear winner for pros? I'm not creating South Park - just editing large quantities of large image files.

I would still lean toward the Pro

for the tasks that you have described.

That said, the new 27" iMac, with external storage, would do a fine job also. Just lacks easy access and the multiple internal drives and a few other tweaks that might matter during HD Video rendering.
