Bad memory indication

I had the power supply go bad in my Powermac G5 early 2005 dual 2.3 processor mac. After replacing the power supply, start up fails. Everything appears to start correctly but I get no start tone and the power led flashes three times indicating bad memory. Any ideas why changing a power supply (and no other changes) would cause the machine to think the memory is bad?

Else when it was going out.
Have you tried reseating the RAM?

When supplies go bad.

There is a chance it will fry other parts as it fails. This is why we never chance it if a machine shows any signs of a bad PSU or you find those BAD CAPS (see google for pictures.)

The shop that did the work should have a spare stick to try but if the PSU fried something on the mainboard then other sticks will fail.
