I have 3+ year old Mac Pro. I'd like to upgrade the internal HDD b/c of space requirements. However, I don't want to get an HDD that won't be compatible with my current system.
How concerned do I need to be about matching things like the cache, SATA version, etc.? If my motherboard couldn't handle a 64 MB cache, or SATA 3, would it still work with the drive (albeit maxed out at the motherboard's specs)?
Thanks!
