Imac: older graphics vs. newer graphics for online gaming

I am about to buy a new iMac. My son is an online gamer, mainly W.O.W./Dragon Age II, etc. I have a chance to bget this imac for a good price:

27" iMac - 2.93GHz with FREE Upgrade to OS X Lion







2.93GHz Intel Core i7






4GB DDR3 SDRAM | 1TB hard drive






2560 x 1440 resolution













<b>ATI Radeon HD 5750 graphics
</b>

Other newer iMac models with i5 processor have newer graphics capabilities: 6970M
Will it make THAT much of a difference to have the newer graphics capabilities for online gaming?

All that extra spacing?

The new GPU will give the new iMac an edge but in the world of apple gaming the makers usually state what the requirements are. Gaming on the Apples is not as treacherous as your common PC.

iMac graphics capabilities: Would the 6970M be better for WOW and other online games than the 5750M graphics n the iMac. Intel Quad-core i5 processor vs. i7 make a difference either? Trying to decide what is best at this price point (under $2000.)

When it comes to games, the GPU has more effect than the CPU. But then when it comes to video editing I'm back to wanting the baddest CPU I can get.

Both will play nicely but you are at a crossroads here. Do you need this for more than gaming? (nod to the better CPU) or is it all about gaming (nod to the GPU.)

This new iMac would be more for ME! using for design and photo-editing. My son would use for gaming (NOT full time), but I am tired of complaints that he cannot play WOW with our current selection of older iMacs!

We can see that a better CPU or GPU is better but there is no question any of the above will play WOW.
