Problem with web page display

Hello,

Sometimes when I open some web pages it displays it in a weird archaic formate. The background is all white and all the text is in Times New Roman sometimes all of the text is displayed in "left alignment", if you get what i mean.

I have Chrome as my normal web browser but it also happens in Mozilla. I reinstalled Chrome but the problem keeps showing up from time to time. This is happening in a new notebook I bought with Windows 8. The former netbook with another (older) Windows never had that problem. Does it have to do with java? Sometimes I refresh the page and then it displays normally, but sometimes it does not.

I appreciate your help.

Since it works 99.99% of the time I never gave it any thought trying to fix it.

You raise a good question. Is it unacceptable to have web pages that don't work all the time?

I've been having the same problem recently. I think it may be something with one of the extensions. My possibly adblock. I also use a force https extension and I think that is the real reason. Sites that are not set up to do https come back as text. I haven't tested it yet because it's only on a few sites that really didn't matter so far.

But why not try it without and if that fixes it, then you ask the extension's author what's up.

The force to https would of course cause odd page loads. I see there are open discussions on that so you either missed it or didn't know.
