How to save text messages and iMessage messages from iPhone?

My one year anniversary since I started dating my girlfriend is coming up in November. As a gift, I want to give her a book made from all the text messages we have sent to each other since the beginning of our relationship. We both have iPhones so we use iMessage to text each other. I have been trying to find a way to save all the messages from my phone to my computer. The iPhone automatically uses iMessage to send the text if both users have an iPhone, and when either of us don't have wi-fi or 4G available, it will send the message as a text message. There are several programs that I have run in to, but they all have the same problem. All of the programs can only copy all the text messages we have sent, but not the "iMessage messages". What is the best way for me to do this? Please HELP ME!!

Some folk ask a question like this and we'll reply with something that works but costs a few bucks. Only then do they reveal it must be free and "best."

With that out of the way you can find such iMessage decipher and save apps with a simple Google.

Well ideally, the program would be free. But, I would be willing to pay up to 20 bucks for a program that would efficiently copy all iMessage messages and text messages from a specific contact from my phone. It needs to put all of them in chronological order regardless of whether they were texts or imessages. It also needs to be able to save all MMS too like pictures. I think I would want the output to be as an html file with everything embedded in. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yea, the easiest way to do this is just via a third party software program. I also use decipher text message (deciphertools.com) and that one works great for me and I can save all my iMessage and texts to my computer. That should probably work for you. wink
