So I am doing this hack on my alarm clock so when the alarm gets triggered in the morning it will start up my homemade motor. From what I can see the speaker wire is the only wire that gets activated when the alarm goes off but it doesn't get near enough volts to get the job done. There are other spots on the PCB that have a constant amount of power to run it but then it would be running all the time.
So my thought was if I get a voltage regulator will that bumbs the speaker power up from .7 volts to 5 volts will that fix it or is it a fire waiting to happen?
Maybe that's not even what a regulator is for. I don't know, but that's why I came to you CNET. Always there when my own stupidity drops out on me. ![]()
