Unable download anything from internet

Computer: Compaq all in one desktop at present using Windows 8 Consumer Preview evaluation copy build 8250 ( 32 bit )
Previously had used other Download Managers before downloading IDM which also worked well. However after a month now whenever I try to download anything it says "IDM not registered in 30 days therefore exiting". Next it asks me to buy it and register. I do not wish to do so. I have tried deleting IDM folder from my system.
But now not even able to download another DM or anything else at all. Kindly guide me to remove the irksome IDM Pop Up and enable me to once again proceed with downloads without having to buy any software. Thanks.

Are you running a partition for 8 or dual booting? I am a bit curious because I normally beta test new operating systems but after discussions with friends I have opted to hold off on 8 until there is more hard data available, even my daughter who works for MS advised me to wait a bit.

Some things you can try.
- Reinstall and remove through control panel (NOT by just deleting the folder in Program Files)
- Format the partition and reinstall the consumer preview. It's just for test anyway.
- System restore back to before you installed it
- See if IDM has an option to be disabled
- See if IDM is used if you download from a new browser (choose from IE, Firefox, Chrome) in a new Windows account. If not, use that for your downloading.

Kees I am wondering if he is JUST running the trial Windows 8, solo and if so if the issue might be cause by limited functionality of the OS? In other words no partition no other bootable OS or secondary drive. After looking more closely at the post I realized this is an All in one unit, hence the unlikelyhood of an onboard 2nd HDD. If this be the case I am thinking the first call is to MS.
