Using speaker wires to AUX output

I want to use two speakers that are currently attached to a CD player for my laptop/iPod through an AUX attachment.
The speaker are attached to the CD player through 4 wires: the right, a red positive and a black negative and the left, a black and white positive and a white negative. The wires don't have anything on the end of them but are clamped into the back of the CD player through 4 slots.
Is there any way to use these wires in a laptop or iPod to play music through the speakers? Thanks!

Because for over a few decades the PC speaker outputs are now longer amplified. So any signal from the iPod or PC must go to an Amplifier first.
