HI everyone
Hope someone has experience in networking or can advise us how to do this.
I have 1 computer wired to a router with its own phone line. It's also got a NAS drive connected and a printer, wirelessly.
We've got another computer which we just bought a second phone line for, so they can have their own phone number. Now, we've bought broadband for the second line so the computers don't have to share the bandwidth, because we both use VOIP (we figure this will be better for our VOIP calls). So this computer doesn't need to connect wirelessly to my internet, but it does need access to the printer and NAS drive.
Does anyone know how computer 2 (a Mac) can connect to the internet through his own phone line, wired, AND connect wirelessly to the internal network for the printerNAS drive simultaneously? At present we have to unplug the wired connection for the Mac to pick up the internal wireless network.

I'm assuming that when you say "Phone Line" you actually mean DSL line. (Comes into the house on a phone line)
The NAS drive seems to be connected directly to computer #1, is that correct?
The Mac should be able to connect wirelessly to the printer and the internet at the same time.
Unless you're planning on having both machines do VOIP at the same time, the bandwidth problem would not really be an issue.
If cable internet is available in your area, I would be tempted to give up the two "phone lines" and use the money to get cable internet with a much greater speed (bandwidth) than your current DSL line.

We do both VOIP at the same time, so it is an issue.Computer #2 has its own internet line (along with the phone), so isn't connecting wirelessly to the net, it's hardwired to its own line.
That's right, NAS is connected directly to #1.
:/ It's a weird set up, I know, but the Mac isn't simultaneously connecting to the wireless (my line, with the NAS and printer) and its own hardwired line. I'll try the Mac forum, thank you!

from your latest description, it would seem that both computers are on separate "networks" which are not connected in any way.
I would be interested in hear what others come up with
