Friends,my boy is here for summer,he is a gamer with xbox elite.At home he plays with friends on his machine,headphones, mic etc.My cable co provides a hardwired modem for downstairs with wi-fi for me upstairs.He brought a BELKIN 750 thing but I don't know how to make it work.I got him a HDMI cable to go from XBOX to TV but is anyone able to tell me how to get him wi-fi so he can play with his friends? I don't know squat about gaming or networks,all i know is he can use it at home somehow.

What exactly is that "Belkin 750 thing". Can you provide a link?
And why do you think you need such a thing if you already have WiFi ("a hardwired modem ... with WiFi")?

Okay friends,
If i understand correctly,he should be able to piggyback on my wi-fi with his router picking up my signal and delivering it to his XBOX via a LAN cable.On the off chance that I understand correctly is there a set up menu on his ELITE XBOX that will establish a connection with my in house wi-fi by using my passwword.Or am I still off base?Thanks I will wait to see what is posted.

The X-box has a built in WiFI transmitter and Receiver and that would be what is used to connect to your WiFi.
Yes, there is a Set-Up menu in X-Box to help with connecting to a wifi network
Take the Belkin 750 thing back to the store for a refund

Thanks to all,his XBOX according to him,is old and does not have a built in wi-fi capability,ergo the router which needs an adapter to allow him access to my network,without slowing him down while i am on my pc.Sounds like b.s. but that is what grandparents are for.Thank you all.
