Let's be clear about this "scratch", so any repair is topical. An actual scratch and not any breakage of any type? Is this more of an annoyance than showing a display. if breakage, then replacement is the only cure. Depending on your skills or any *trusted* friend get the part from a laptop parts source. However, if only a scratch and omnipresent, then maybe the use of an LCD or CRT spare monitor can be done. Simply input the monitor into the spare video port and select that or it "auto-selects" or provides a menu to determine video output. Doing this allows to not repair anything provided the video signal still works and you now have access to a larger monitor or settle to have a unscratched display. You could even use your HD-TV provided it has and you get the required cable for connection and configure outputs. If display besides the scratch is actually a rotten display and thus damage, you can still use the video port for the time-being until repair is possible. This option is possible if a video signal is still present and you can see some initial display to allow you to select the 2nd display output. Google for ext. display options if this seems confusing but it really is easier than you think.
