watching cable tv without a box from cable company

hi. i can no longer watch the small hd tv in my bathroom because the cable company scrambled the signal and it says i must now rent a set top box. what can i buy so i do not have to pay more money to the cable company to watch the basic channels on my tv. i don't want an antenna.

One person setup HDMI splitters and more. The cost was in the many hundred. Since you don't want an antenna it appears you have to get wired.

Sounds expensive to solve.
