How to forum: Download Outlook on ultrabook from a disc but no disc drive?

Outlook isn't available on its own as it is part of the Office Suite.

How did you install this Outlook initially?

No disk means, no CD/DVD drive?

They charged me 90 quid to install it from the disc along with Office Home and Student 2007. I have just reinstalled Office Home and Student 2007 from the net using the product key from the disc. I wondered if it was possible to do the same with Outlook.
Sadly my ultrabook has no CD/DVD drive.

All you have to do: find somebody with a PC that has both a CD-drive and a USB-port (that won't be too difficult). And find (or buy) a USB-stick (or an external hard drive). Copy the contents of that CD to that stick or drive. Connect that stick or drive to your ultrabook. Run the setup from that stick of drive.

That's easy, isn't it?

I have an old laptop with a USB port and a CD-drive. I have managed to copy an ISO image of the Office Outlook CD onto a USB stick. What the hell do I do with that now? How do i make it go onto my ultrabook? Do I even need an ISO copy?

As you can tell I'm no computer expert.

Why didn't you just copy the CD contents to that USB stick? Then you would have been ready.

The ISO copy is a good backup in case you need to make another CD but for now, you just need the files.

I did do a copy of the CD contents but then didn't know how to make it work on my ultrabook so I deleted them. I'll just copy the CD contents onto a USB again. Then when I have the CD contents onto the USB. I plug the USB into my ultrabook and then what do I do?

Sorry to be a doofus but once I know it I'll be able to do it by myself.

Sadly I'm not compter literate enough to understand any of that link.
If it's possible I was wondering if someone coud tell me if:
a) It's possible to do what I want to do.
b) when I have the files on a stick. What do I do then (imagine you are talking to a massive idiot - for that is, indeed, what I am). I'm tempted to press Run set up but I have no idea if that is a good idea or not.

Keeping simple you find SETUP.EXE and then double click that.

Connect that USB stick into the Ultrabook. Wait for Windows to recognise it and display a window which offers options then select the "Open folder to view files" option. If it recognises the stick but doesn't offer options, open Computer from the Start menu, find this new drive, then highlight/click it to open the folder.

Find Setup.exe and run that.

Outlook normally comes bundled with Office. I seem to remember you saying that Office is now installed on this ultrabook so Setup should find that and give you options to modify your install.

It is very difficult to give step by step guidance how to do this in these forums, but you need to find Outlook in those options and select it to install.
