How to forum: Can't delete strange folders/files. Corupted?

Can't delete strange folders/files. Corupted?

OS Windows 7 64 bit The MS Word folders/files are located on "M" thumb drive.

If I click on the folders: "Location unavailable" is the response.
If I try to delete the folders there is no response.

If I try to delete the files that are not in folders I get the following:
Some files are identified as system files. Did not try deletion.
Other files respond with: Could not find

The folder and file names are random characters, letters and symbols: *.eo{ *.~ o with a slender rectangle between the tilde and the o.

Some files are over 1 gig is size!

Your help with a solution will be greatly appreciated.

Re-format the drive or overwrite it

Click on Computer, then right-click on M: drive and select Format, then click OK/Yes to re-format the drive. If it won't let you, then download a free copy of DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke), a small utility program that you burn onto CD. Insert the bootable CD in your DVD/CD drive and restart the computer. DBAN will load like an oldtime DOS program and you can select the "M" drive to overwrite with 1s and 0s. After that finishes try re-formatting again.
