How to forum: file movement

One copy of any file is doomed to loss.

Open the window that contains the file(s) you want to move.
Open a window on the drive you want to move the file(s) to.
Right Click and drag the file from the one window to the other.
Release the mouse and choose, COPY here.

If the unthinkable happens, the power fails at your house, then nothing, apart from the COPY of the original, is lost.
Once the copy has been completed, and you know that you can open the copied file, delete the original.

Using Cut and Paste, and the power fails, you have lost the original.

Power failure is just one of the things that can fail. The list is long.

I posted the one copy is doomed to loss. This is the poster's requirement. "I wish to delete the file from the source".

But you and I know the poster will be back asking how to retrieve lost files.

but one should never delete a wanted file until one is sure that there is actually a copy.

I did not knowingly attach any such url. I do not know how to do that.

in the forum pages. Sometimes the entire page coding is showing up in a post and the actual message is almost unreadable. We don't blame Canada for that. LOL

And then we found that square windows in airplanes was never a good idea.

Why did I add this? No reason except for trivia and just back from a tour on a local aircraft carrier.

there was no precedence to go by as no one had ever built a commercial jet airliner before.

The story of how they eventually found the reason for the Comet losses is quite fascinating.

And who would have thought that sticking a 12 degree ramp on the front of an aircraft carrier would allow the Harrier to carry a greater payload and still have STO capabilities.
