How to forum: How to burn blu ray disks to PS3 using my Mac?

OK, to clarify some points that you brought up...
1. When I say "my blu ray movies" I means one that I bought -- not ones that I've created (I would obviously use the source content and would already have a blu ray burner if that were the case)
2. BD may be copy protected, but I thought that I am able to make a copy of whatever I bought for myself under "Fair Use" laws? I'm not trying to profit from it, just want to make it easier to access. Is that illegal? If it is then I guess I'll have to forget about trying to do this, but if not, I would like to see how this can be done.
3. Yes, some BDs do have digital copies, but truthfully very few of them do. The ones that do, I am able to use (though they are just barely better than DVD-quality).
4. I wasn't sure if it was possible to connect my PS3 to my mac directly and access the drive that way. If that isn't possible, than obviously a BD reader would be needed.

On item 2, you can do what you want but the forum policies forbid any discussion about the ripping. There are plenty of other forums for that so for now, here we'll abide by the polices of our host (CBS).

On item 4, no. No one has ever published a method to use the PS3's BD player from any other machine.

OK, thanks! This is isn't any kind of urgent or even important question; more curiosity (and some frustration) than anything. Discs get so easily scratched (especially by kids) and BDs are still close to $30 each. I'd rather just buy digital versions, but so far not much is available that will work on the PS3 (my prime source for providing entertainment) and, renting a movie over and over can quickly exhaust one's downloading bandwidth and funds if you're not on Netflix or something similar. Kids watch the same movies a lot. I was hoping to just put my BDs on a HD, but I guess I'll just use them till they die (or the kids make them inoperable).

But there are limits to what this forum can discuss. And circumvention or getting around DRM is usually a locked thread.

At least you know you can't get to the PS3 BR drive. No one has.
