HHow do I install the USB on my computer?

I have a new Dell computer with Win 7 Ulltimate SP1. My problem started when I thought I had 2 bad printers. These were 2 new Kodak printers that I could not get to install. There were several other items that would stop when it got to the USB part. I got to thinking, the USB section off my computer WAS NOT working. I'm not new to computers, I was a tech for 8 years until I hadd to retire (health). Can you help? confused

Bad USB

If the computer is new, it should still be under warranty. I would try checking with Dell or the store where you purchased the computer to see if they can service it or offer replacement parts. They may even reimburse for service. This would be better than spending money on something that isn't your fault happy


If you want to quickly replace the USB ports, and you have an available PCI slot, you could get a card that has a couple of ports on it. They would only be accessible from the back of the PC, but it would be better than having no USB!
The part you're looking for is a 4 port PCI USB Adapter, you can usually get them at an electronics store in your area, maybe even Wal-mart.
