How to install windows xp and what to consider before?

Hi I want to reinstall Windows xp on my CPU to pass it on to my brother. It already has windows xp installed on it, however it is very full with software and data, that I thought it would be easier if I just did a new installation. I no longer have the original CD but recently obtained a copy. My only concern is, if it is too complicated to do such a procedure and what else needs to be considered such as driver installation. I have a linksys antenna attached for wireless internet, and I just wonder if I will have to reinstall it somehow or if it will run automatically. Also what about sound drivers etc.? As this will be my first windows xp reinstallation I just want to make sure I get it right. Thanks for your help!

Your best bet is to look up your computer model from the manufacturer's website and see if they have installation instructions and the drivers you need. You'll probably want to look through device manager to see what hardware is on your machine so you can see what drivers to search for. It shouldn't be too difficult but count on at least 30-45 minutes to install XP and probably another 30 minutes to install the drivers and then at least another hour to run all the Microsoft updates. Also, make sure you know how to reconnect to your wireless router so you can get Internet access to download updates. You might consider downloading all the drivers beforehand onto a USB flash drive. XP reinstalls are now getting so onerous that I can't tell if folk are ready for driver hunts and odd install procedures.

And to top all that off, there is no procedure, step by step for your machine (or mine!)
