How do I upgrade Classic 9.2.2 on an G5 to 10.5 or above and how do I upgrade IMac 10.5.8 to 10.6 or 10.8. Is softwear available. I have other issues with Classic that has Pagemaker 6.5 and will upgrades accept it? Thanks for help. Bill

Anyone that answers needs to know about the issue they have and armed with this should admonish the owner to backup so they can go back if the apps fail to install or run after the upgrade.

Notwithstanding Bob's insistence on a good backup, you have other things that we need answers to.
You say that the G5 is running Classic. Do you actually mean that the G5 is running System 9.2.2 and ONLY 9.2.2 or is the G5 running a version of OS X and 9.2.2?
In the latter configuration, System 9.2.2 was known as Classic and updating the G5 to a later OS X version will not change the fact that 9.2.2 is still 9.2.2
Updating the G5 to 10.5 is possible and that is as far as you can take that G5 as the next OS X version (10.6) removed all support for the PPC processor.
Updating the G5 to 10.5, installing CS2 onto the G5 and then moving the Pagemaker files to a place where they can be opened by CS2, would be an option.
In parting, I refer you again to Bob's admonishment about a Backup BEFORE you start anything.

10.5 is available on eBay but it will not be cheap

The G5 System is OS X 10.4.11 and the Pagemaker documents open in the Classic 9.2.2 on that computer. As I understand it, if I could upgrade the G5 to 10.5 I could not open the Pagrmaker files. I have tried to install the Pagemaker softwear on my IMac which runs 10.5.8 with no luck and I have tried to open one of her Pagemaker files with no luck. To install InDesign softwear on either Mac I need 10.6 or 10.8. I certainly will back up before I do any

The G5 goes to 10.5 but Classic stays at 9.2.2
Pagemaker is a PPC app, won't run on Intel.
Let us know if you decide to upgrade the iMac to 10.6, install InDesign and then try the PageMaker files.
Remember that Bob mentioned a trial version of InDesign
